Since the kids loved these so much even said that momo is love😍😍. It is always great to make it at home in few time. You just need to master the technique and you can twist them to suit your plate. Simple and healthy snack recipe inherited from the traditional Nepali cuisine. basically, it is plain flour based dumplings steamed with cabbage, carrot and spring onion stuffing. it has become a popular street food in India and is typically served with a red colored spicy and watery with momos chutney or tomato puree.

How to Make Steamed Momos

1. Take a bowl and add the 2 cup maida in it then add 1/ tbsp salt and 1/2 tbsp baking powder and knead to a stiff dough with water.

2. Heat the deep pan or kadahi ( for fry) then heat oil or ghee in it and add the finely chopped onion and garlic for fry.

3. Make saute over high heat and add the carrot and cabbage then add few water. Turn around over high heat till glossy and cooked veggies for few minutes on medium flame.

4. Take it off the heat and properly mix in the pan soya sauce, salt, vinegar and black pepper.

5. Roll the momos dough thin (translucent) with the help of roll pin and cut into 4″-5″ rounds.

6.Take 1 small round, wet edges for water or milk and place some veggie filling in the center of dough.

7. Bring edges together to cover the filling. Twist to seal and fill the rest in the same way.

8. Steam for about 10 minutes and serve with soya sauce and chilli sauce.

Recipe of fried momos

1. Follow all the same instruction as followed in steamed momos like as: we ready a dough and filled vegiee filling in it and seal it for giving a shape.

2. Then we take a deep pan and add refined oil or any oil as your wish or as you used in your on daily basis.

3. Place a pan on high flame and oil will be heat slowly slowly

4. If oil will be heat properly then you are ready to fried your momo into pan , drop one by one momos in oil.

5. When momos color shall be change in light brown set aside momos on napkin.

6. Sprinkle chat masala on it and enjoy you yummy momos.

Momos recipe is very common in my house because my brother like too much these type of Chinese food and i always tried to make at home because of corona or an other harmful effects. I keep preparing it with a various variety of stuffings. As a matter of fact, i end up making these cute looking dumpling with any leftover dry sabzi’s or healthy veggies filled in it that is too important for him or us also for our health.

In addition, to make my life easier i do get a modak – shaped momos sheet here in asian supermarkets under the fridge section. So basically my job is to stuff the veggies and shape it as required and steam it till it gets cooked. but in this recipe, i have showcased both stuffing and how momos dough be ready or you purchase momos sheet that can be overwhelming for a novice chef and hence you can opt for frozen momos sheets. but the stuffing is extremely simple and can be made in minutes.
